The designed elements of the project is composed of several components including a town square to be located in front of the building. This will host outdoor events, conferences and youth activity, thereby complimenting and enriching the activities that will be supported within the architecture. The center will be connected to the new residential project, providing proximity and a neighborhood presence to the community programs.
The openness of the project will provide an accessibility and invitation that supports the continuous presence of visitors at various times during the day, creating a constantly fluctuating urban social texture. The town square will ascend into the higher floors of the building and the surrounding landscape.
The offices and various functions will be located in the prismatic blocs, with the traffic between them running horizontally between the vertical elements on the ground floor, the various floors and the top of the complex. The structure’s screen walls will show Holon, which grew and developed from sand dunes. The windows will offer views of the preferable directions and open by means of Arabian oriel windows in the form of sand dunes, forming a smart green wall that creates shading.
The new piazza will be enclosed by the colonnades of the shops and cafes which will be accessed from the street and the square. An enormous amphitheater will stand at the center of the square and will merge with the underground floors and parking area. The project’s top floors, including a viewpoint, municipal galleries and the mayor’s offices, will constitute the center of the new urban composition. The floors will align with the diagonal axis, connecting Holon’s older public structures with the dunes of the nature reserve, binding together past and future.
